Rice Splash is a free, one-day program that takes place twice a year (once during fall semester and once during spring semester) where 5th to 8th grade students from the Houston area have the opportunity to take classes taught by Rice students at the Rice University campus and get a taste of the college experience. We specifically target students from underserved backgrounds, and students have the chance to take 50-minute long courses, ranging from topics such as “Tearing Art Apart” to “Components of Choreography” to “Engineering Sound.”
Rice Splash is part of Learning Unlimited (LU) and is one of many national and international chapters of Splash. The first Rice Splash program was held spring of 2013 and has grown each year!
